INVESTIGATION OF THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN THE RELIGIOUS ORIENTATION OF ELDERLY INDIVIDUALS AND THEIR ATTITUDE TO COMPLEMENTARY AND ALTERNATIVE MEDICINE

Purpose: This study was conducted to examine the relationship between religious orientation of elderly people and their attitudes towards complementary alternative medicine. Material Methods: study, which adopted a descriptive relational screening model, with participation 271 individuals aged 65 over who were registered in Family Health Centers eastern part Turkey October - December 2019. Results: The mean score Holistic Complementary Alternative Medicine Attitude Scale scores participating 28.23 ± 7.2; total Religious Orientation 62.10 5.72. A significant difference found individuals' medicine educational status. In addition, statistically negative correlation (p <0.05). Conclusion: It that higher education have lower high increases positive attitude line these results, awareness on subject can be increased by educating primary health care public nurses. it is recommended conduct different regions larger groups.
